So, today was a fun day overall. I sang in the praise choir this morning so I was up and at em early this morning. After church we decided to go to Zaxby's for my "Splurge" meal. Wow after I just looked at the calorie count I'm pretty sure it wasnt THAT delicious!! Then Josie and I had icecream on the way home and the boys went to the botanical gardens to enjoy Dinosaur days. Josie went right down to sleep when we got home and I rested outside on the swing for about 20 min till I got hot and went in and slept about 2 hours. :) VERY NICE! I love naps. When Logan got home we decided to wash the cars. It was fun. Nice to finally get some work outta these kids. ;)
I gave my body the day off but still technically got some exercise cleaning both cars. Still, it wouldnt "plug in" to leanness.
Here's my food for the day:

M2: Zaxby's chicken finger plate, no tx toast, no slaw & a coke to drink. 1276 cals!!!!! 56 fat

Ok, so I admit it...
When I work my hiney off one day and eat lower calories and lower sodium foods and I STILL gain it makes me flat out pissed off.
Am I over-working? Whats this crap everybody says about "its really quite easy....you just burn more calories than you take in and you lose weight"?? In what PLANET does that happen? Not where I am livin sista.
So anyway, you can guess my scale was BACK up this morning. Quite frankly it ticked me off. I moved it all around the room (hoping it was off center or something) then stepping on again and again to see that I was up 8oz from yesterday's weigh in. Thats almost a bloody POUND!
So as I was driving home from my lunch with this weeks official "splurge meal" still warm in my tummy and ice cream chasing it, I decided maybe my scale needed to take the week off.
I still put too much stock in that stupid thing. And although everybody tells me I need to make peace with the scale and realize there just "water fluxuation" (boy that phrase chaps my hide!) day to day I'm over that crap. When I have a day that I'm up after I've worked really hard before that it makes me take a "oh what the heck, eat whatever you want b/c its not gonna matter ANYWAY" day. Now, today was my scheduled splurge meal at lunch. Supposedly we do this to remind our bodies we're not starving so they'll let go of the weight, but quite frankly I was HAPPY it was today b/c I'm still ill about the dern scale.
So I'm giving my scale the week off. I'm not going to weigh again till Saturday and see how I feel and how much I'm weighing then. Life's too short for me to keep yoyoing everytime I dont "get my way".
So there we go....

So I slept SOOO late this morning which was beautiful. I think it was like 11 when I finally got up. I got on the treadmill and ran intervals 5.0/5.5/6.0/6.5 then ran my high minute @ 8.0 for 30 minutes. Then I upped the incline to 7.0 and walked at 3.5 for an additional 30 min. After that I did a Karen Voight "ball" exercise video for 20 min. Not too long after that Logan wanted to take a walk around the neighborhood so he could scooter. So we walked for about 35 minutes.

So today I had this weird kind of idea. Why not make getting fit my "job" for the next two months? So today, I made "movement" my primary task.
I spent the morning playing with Josie then when she went down for her nap around 10:45 I got down to my workout.
First I did the Biggest Loser workout video that included 5 min warm up, 25 minutes weight training, 25 min cardio. Then as soon as I was done with that I got on the treadmill. Upped the incline to 7.0 and the speed to 3.5 and grabbed a book I've been half way through and walked for the next 50 minutes. It said 3 miles and 500 cals, so I'll take that :). After that I went into the living room and did the Shimmy belly dancing 30 min show and then hit the showers. After Josie woke up we ate lunch and it was so nice outside we decided to go for a SLOW walk around the neighborhood for the next 45 minutes till Logan got off the bus. Then we all stayed outside till dinner, flying our big DRAGON kite. It was fun!
However, its 7pm and I'm exhausted! But thankfully its Thursday night, which is tv night at our house (the only night we really watch tv), so I'm at least up through Survivor and The Office. I'll watch the recorded Grey's Anatomy tomorrow.

Today was my first day back being a "stay at home" mom since starting at UAH last August. I dont have to go back to teaching till July so I'm pretty psyched about being home. I cleaned my house and everything... I know. Go me.
I also did an INSANE amount of exercise today.
It was my SECOND bootcamp with April. It was good, but included a lot more running today. Around 4:30 (during my pt session) I could feel my shin splint really hurting so I'll go easier on my shins tomorrow. So bootcamp at 5:00am, then I did the bellydancing "Shimmy" program for 1 hour which was relaxing and almost felt like stretching yoga, then I had a personal training session for 30 min, again I think I ran for the first 10 minutes... so ouch. Then I did quads and ran into a student who I caught up with when I should have been doing a leg workout, so not much on that, but its all good.

So one of the MEGA perks (and there are many) to being a college professor is a FREE membership to the schools gym. Luckily at UAH we have a state of the art one filled with everything you could imagine including an awesome daycare & fitness classes for kids. Love that.
So today I had to give a final at 8 am!! This was darn near impossible since the earliest I can drop off logan is 7:15 then I had to take Josie to her babysitters (for the last time) on winchester then drive over to UAH. Well of course chapman mountain was covered up in traffic so I had to go the LONG way. I arrived 15 min late. Oh well, they can't very well take the final without me. They were cool about it though.
So after the final I stayed till about 11:15 working on stuff in the office then left for the gym. When I got there I just had planned on doing cardio but then I realized that at 11:45 Val's bootcamp was going to take place in the gym and Tasha had suggested that I try it out. So I did.
First off, there were A LOT of men in that gym. They were all shooting baskets and stuff and I thought they might have to pee on something soon to mark their territory. I did some warming up and when Val came in she asked me if I had any experience, I said a little, and she promised to pair me up with someone who had done the class. I could TELL none of the men wanted to pair up with me, which was kinda hurtful, but hey... they didnt have any clue what I was capable of doing really. As Val was explaining all the stations a woman came up and asked me if I had a partner and told me she'd been doing this for a year and she'd partner with me. So that was good. I felt the whole time like I was trying to prove to her (and val maybe??!) that I could hang just fine in that class. IT was rough, but it was a good workout and I'd be shocked if I didnt burn over 800 calories in that hour. I'm going to try to work it in at least once a week during the break. Oh and lets not forget that all I'd had to eat was a Myoplex and it was 1:00pm before I left the gym so needless to say I was starved!!!
However, when I logged it into Leanness Lifestyle it only credited me with 680 cals.

So, today I started a boot camp with April whis is held at our local high school. You can see her webpage here. http://www.strivefitness.org/. It's at 5am people! So you know she has to be at least slightly insane.
It was a torrential downpour and so we all stood under the awning at the back of the school. I actually only came to show my face to prove I was going to be there, but when I arrived they were actually working out. And it was freezing-butt cold! So I hauled my hiney up under the awning with the rest of the crazy people.
I felt like I had a good workout. At one point we were holding onto the poles and doing like a pivioting deadlift (I dont know the REAL name for them) I knew I was going to be sore, but I worked hard and felt pretty good about it overall.
I was supposed to then go and have my pt session with Tasha, but when I got Josie up she had a 102.4 fever. So I RUSHED to email Tasha and tell her that I wouldn't be there. I hated to miss it, but was sort of glad at the same time.
I had to give a final at 3pm so I took Logan and Josie to Papa's (what we call my husband, George, instead of Dad) work and we switched off and I went and gave the final. After that I ran some errands before finally heading over to church for worship team practice. Which went till 9pm!! I was so hungry at the end of the practice I was doubling over, but I didnt explain to them why.

*Comments = calorie count was way too low today but when I got into town I didnt know what to eat. I spent about an hour online trying to figure out what I could eat. I also ate too much packaged food, but again, moving around a whole lot neccessitates such at times.
Overall it was not a terrible day, but I cannot let myself continue to have such a low calorie count.
